DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE CANADA, TORONTO — David is proud to announce his appointment to the Department of Justice (National Litigation Sector).
The Department of Justice is “Canada’s legal team;” responsible for overseeing the national administration of justice. The Department provides legal advice to the Government of Canada, represents the Crown in civil litigation, drafts legislation, and works closely with provincial and territorial governments to develop and maintain justice policies, laws, and programs. The Department has a mission to maintain a fair, relevant, and accessible justice system which is reflective of Canadian values.
David brings a wealth of experience to his new role in the Department of Justice. As a litigator with a robust background in law and a dedication to fearless advocacy, David will play a pivotal role in advocating for the interests of Canada.
David brings to the Department his expertise in navigating complex legal matters and his commitments to integrity, wisdom, compassion, and precision.
David holds a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School (2021) and a Bachelor of Computing from the University of Guelph (2008). After being called to the bar in 2022, he was hired back at Devry Smith Frank LLP as a litigation specialist.
Before transitioning to law, David enjoyed a distinguished career in computer science. Notably, at Dell EMC, he earned multiple awards for his innovative solutions to complex customer issues. David’s technical background now informs his legal practice.
David is honored to now serve the public interest. By working to ensure fairness and justice for all Canadians, David is dedicated to strengthening the national legal framework for the administration of justice in keeping with the principles of law, freedom, democracy, and inclusivity.
